Saturday's Football

Here are the results.
F.A. Cup Quarterfinals

Manchester United 0 vs. 1 Portsmouth
Awesome!! I watched the second half on my computer. Man United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak got a red card in the 78th minute for a challenge on Milan Baroš. A penalty was awarded and Rio Ferdinand was the goalkeeper! Sulley Muntar took the penalty and scored. Rio almost saved it! I am so happy that Manchester United lost.
Barnsley 1 vs. Chelsea 0
WOW! First they won at Liverpool and now at home against Chelsea. I really hope Barnsley wins the Cup.

English Premier League
Liverpool 3 vs. Newcastle 0
Pennant, Torres and Stevie-G scored for Liverpool.
Blackburn 1 vs. Fulham 1
Eddie Johnson, Kasey Keller and Clint Dempsey started. McBride also played as a sub. Late goal from a Bullard free kick got Fulham a point. They really need wins though.
Reading 2 vs. Manchester City 0
Wow, big win. Shane Long in the 62nd and Dave Kitson in the 88th for Reading. Reading really needed a win.

Spanish Primera División
Real Madrid 2 vs. Espanyol 1
Espanyol scored first but Madrid came back. Raúl scored the winner on a penalty.
Real Zaragoza 2 vs. Atlético Madrid 1
An own goal and a penalty led Zaragoza to victory.

Italian Serie A
Inter Milan 2 vs. Reggina 0
Ibra scored on a PK and Burdisso scored as well.

German Bundesliga
VfB Stuttgart 6 vs. Werder Bremen 3
Mario Gómez hat trick led Stuttgart to victory. I want to see these highlights.
Bayern Munich 2 vs. Karlsruhe 0
Toni and Ribéry led Munich to victory.
Arminia Bielefeld 0 vs. Schalke 2
Easy win for Schalke over Arminia Bielefeld who is in a relegation battle.

Dutch Eredivisie
Heerenveen 3 vs. NAC Breda 0
Michael Bradley scored but he might not be credited with the goal. Apparently he hit and then it hit a defender and then went in so they might be calling it an own goal. I am not sure.
Willem II Tilburg 1 vs. Groningen 2
Big. Willem scored on a penalty in the first half. Groningen scored on an own goal in the 82nd minute and then Sepp De Roover got them the win in the 84th minute.

Scottish Cup Semifinals
Queen of the South 2 vs. Dundee 0
Dundee striker Derek Lyle missed the game because he fell through his glass coffee table. He and his friend were messing around and they tripped on the rug and he fell through the table. He had to get stitches. LOL.
St. Johnstone 1 vs. St. Mirren 1
A replay will be played to see who plays Queen of the South in the final.

There it is. Also, the US Women defeated Italy 2-0 in the Algarve Cup yesterday. My recap of the game can be found here: http://www.americansoccerdaily.com/news/uswita070308.htm
